Immigration to Canada is becoming easier for international skilled workers with constant innovation by Canadian provinces. A candidate can now migrate to Canada without a job offer by satisfying the basic Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) criteria to get a qualifying score.
Basic CRS criteria:
- Age of the candidate, preferably 18-35 years old
- Education qualification
- Relevant work experience or graduated from any Canadian university
- Canadian Work Experience will be an added advantage
- Language Proficiency in English or French
- Any family member living in Canada as a permanent resident
Now, consider the following immigration streams as it requires no job offer while applying:
a. Manitoba – Manitoba Skilled Worker Stream: The application process involves you to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the concerned provincial authority. Once an Invitation to Apply (ITA) is issued through regular draws, you get a chance to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.
b. Saskatchewan – Occupation In-Demand & Express Entry Subcategories: With the replacement of a list of eligible occupations with that of the list of excluded occupation, international skilled workers can apply for a provincial nomination in more than 200 occupations. And certainly, no job offer is required.
c. Nova Scotia – Nova Scotia Demand – Express Entry Stream (Category B): In order to qualify under this immigration stream, you will have to satisfy one of three streams under the Federal Express Entry System- the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, the Canadian Experience Class Program. It may take up to three months or more for your application to process.
d. Ontario – Ontario Express Entry – Human Capital Priorities Stream: This program selects candidates from the Express Entry pool that meet the basic criteria mentioned above. Processing time for application is 60-90 days.
e. Alberta – Alberta Express Entry Stream: To qualify you will need to meet the criteria for one of three streams that fall under the Federal Express Entry System- the Federal Skilled Worker, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, the Canadian Experience Class Program. As recent as September 11 and 18 draws, Alberta invited eligible candidates with the CRS score as low as 302 and 350 respectively.
Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan have a specific Point Assessment Grid which measures the same categories as above but gives applicants a score out of 100.
